Watercolor by King Zeek

This is My latest Mardi Gras related watercolor, just finished this week. Decked out the King in my own crown and coronation jacket. Hope other artists will do Mardi Gras related work. Of course there is the Arti Gras exhibit (earlier post) that will showcase 14 risque Mardi Gras paintings. I love painting with purple!

Arti Gras Show

Krewe Chief Dan Ellis asked me to put together an art show, Arti Gras, that will be on exhibit Feb 14,15, & 16, at the Rowdy Beaver in Eureka Springs. I have lined up 14 of Eureka's most talented artists who will each create one piece for the exhibit. The work will be tastefully risque, a fun assignment that has the participating artists very excited about creating the work. A reception hosted by the Roi Regency, decked out in coronation finery, will take place on the evening of Feb 15.
This will be another FUN event added to a get-down-have-a-good-time, over-the-top, not-to-be-missed festival: EUREKA GRAS!!!
P.S.  Dan has already added the event to the listings. Check back for updates.

Mardi Gras ArtiGras

A request from King Zeek: Please vote to keep Eureka Springs on AmericanStyle Magazine’s list of the Top 25 Arts Destinations in the USA (small city category). We have been on the list for the past 3 years and we want not only to stay on the list, but to move up in ranking. Competition is stiff from cities that include Aspen, Taos, Carmel, & Key West. To vote go to www.americanstyle.com/
AND in return for your vote, the ES arts community will participate in a new and exciting event: ArtiGras, an exhibit featuring a little bawdy, a little risque, and a lot of fun, ART. The event will be held February 14, 15, 16 and will be sponsored by the Krewe of Krazo Roi Regency. More details soon to follow.

Mardi Gras 2010

Time passes so quickly and Mardi Gras 2010 will soon be here! Prep is already underway to make it another fab and festive time. Don't delay, get out the glue guns, and start making those costumes now. Christmas decorations, especially in green, gold, and purple, make great decorating items for costumes. Hobby Lobby is already offering 50% off sales every now and then for Christmas decorations. Also, who knew that purple would become a Halloween color and Halloween decorations will soon be on clearance.  Snatch up the  Halloween "purples" for your costumes and umbrellas (and speaking of,  remember this year's theme is "2nd line umbrellas.")  We gonna' have some fun!
